the thoughts that I think toward you,

and not of evil,
to give you an expectation and an end.

I guess it made no sense for God to pursue me, but he did anyway. It is amazing what he will call us to do to follow his example. And it is amazing what he will do in our hearts to enable us to follow that calling, when we cry out for it. Praise God! His thoughts toward me are of peace. And my thoughts are of peace.
